An Photo Essay That Is The Cousin of Mulvey's Arguments

Here's the promised essay The Male Gaze, the Fashion Industry & the Pose. It's a fascinating read -- remember I connected Mulvey's essay,Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema which is an example of Feminist Film Theory, which is an intellectual grandchild of Critical Theory more generally.

I think you'll enjoy the (photo) essay even if you didn't enjoy that last sentence.

Why Have a Class Blog?

There's quite a lively clamour of film-talk happening here on the internet these days. This blog will direct you to some of it, via links (to the left) and occasional posts. I welcome your suggestions for additional links, tips and resouces.

Each assignment for this class has more information available here on the blog. And I'll occasionally post announcements and information here for you. A link to our class Google Calendar can also be found to the left.

Of course all of this information constitute enhancements -- you're not expected to add anything to this online community.

On the other hand, if you run a film website and would like to make some connections, just give me the info!
